Happy Dussehra

Happy Dussehra to all of you.

We didnt celebrate it big. We all were a lil down with fever and cough. Mamma kept the books for pooja on Saturday evening which meant all of Sunday I didnt have to learn about some things like 1,2 or eyes, nose and stuff. I dont really know what all that means though...
But yeah I am sure I will look forward to this day all year long when I'll have loads of homework to do :)

We said some prayers on Monday morning and took the books. And I got back to my usual routine of studying....

Trip to Poconos

After having seen seven long weekends now I totally understand the concept of a long
weekend...Its when Mamma & Daddy spend 3 consecutive days with me and we are out of
the house for at least 2 days :)

This long weekend Daddy got me back from the daycare at around noon.
We left by 6:30pm and when I woke up I saw so many new faces.
Hmmm that meant its time for me to show off all that I have learnt so far - hi5, hand shake,
giving kissi to Mamma Daddy, tata and most importantly 'my dance'
Next day morning, I heard some of my 'new friends' calling out my name but they were not
looking at me. Soon I realized that amongst all my new friends there was one cutie pie (not
talking about myself :) ) who had the same name - 'Rhea'. Since we both are a bit of
'attention seekers' we didnt start at a great note.

But eventually we did sign the peace treaty

Shankar uncle made some great idlis for bfast...which was well complimented by Laila Aunty's
special chutney pulled out of thin air

We saw the Niagara Falls of PA - Bushkil Falls

It was nice to hang out with the fun loving gang

(From L to R: Laila, Daddy, Me staring @ Laila, Mamma, Rhea Senior's Mamma with Rhea on
her lap, Vinay, Priyanka, Shankar, Varsha and Vidya)

Evevning was Barbaque time. Shankar, Vinay and Dad's trial and error did result in some yummy stuff

The next day so many brains locked heads to plan for the day
Finally all of us left

Ate
and reached the corn field

It was a great trip. Thank you Shankar Uncle for arranging it all!

Why is it so astonishing?

This probably will be a short one.
I just wanted to share a typical sequence which has happened so many times off late.

We go out, we meet someone and they say - 'Oh how cute...how old is she now?'
Mom / Dad: She is eight months....
These days its changed to 'she is close to 9 months'
Response to that: Really?? OMG and ho
w many teeth does she have?
Mom / Dad: Six
Response to that: Wooooow!! That is unbelievable....OR That is awesome OR That's cool

I wonder why do they find it so strange that I have six teeth...When I cant even count how many they have!! Probably having six when I just turned eight months might be a lil hard to believe :)

Happy Onam

Happy Onam to all of you.
It was my first one and I had a great one.

I was a bit upset this morning because Mom Dad woke me up a little early. But getting ready to go to school in my new outfit did change my mood.

Guess mom was busy all morning preparing the OnaSadya (lunch for Onam). Dad came to pick me up in the afternoon and after I reached home we all got dressed
in traditional outfit.

I was so hungry but I knew today someone up there - 'God' had a higher priority over me. So I requested HIM to give me some food soon

Finally I saw some great food kept in front of me. We did the prayers

I started with a pappadam.

But soon realized that I need some real food to fill my hungry tummy. So it was time to GET SET GO....

My 1st Onam was complete after we visited the temple in the evening
