India Trip - Bangalore

After experiencing a 20 hour flight, the one from Mumbai to B'lore was a piece of cake. To make it even better, there were a couple of Bollywood celebrities in our flight. We even got a pic with one of them - Konkona Sen

After we landed, it was like deja vu. I was greeted with love and warmth again. But this time by my maternal family - Ars (Aryan - my cousin bro), Ammamma, Nanu, Vellyamma (Mamma's Sis) and Vellyachchan.
Unlike the apartments that I've always lived in, both my Vellyachchan and Nanu stay in independent houses which meant I had the luxury of being stubborn about taking me out for walks whenever I wished for.

Just as my Appachi had predicted, within no time myself and Ars became inseparable. I just didnt feel I was meeting him for the first time. He's such a caring and sharing elder brother.

On April 15th we celebrated our New Year - Vishu. It started with the Vishu Kani first thing in the morning followed by getting a lot of money from all my elders as Vishu Kayineetam :) We had lunch in the traditional Malayalee way.

To add to the importance of the great day, Mamma's Ammamma (my GreatGranny), Cousin Sister and her son came to see me. It was one of the most blessed moments of my life to be with Mamma's Mamma's Mamma :)
Other than shopping and visting some temples, I mostly stayed in & around my house and had a great time.
I miss you so much Ammamma, Nanu
Ars, Vellyamma & Vellyachcha

Trip To India - Mumbai

A short blog on a month long vacation in India.
It started off with packing those big suitcases. Me being a good helpful daughter as always, did my share of work - packing my toys, clothes and finally load testing of suitcases and approving them..

It was my first time in a flight. Hardly did I expect that its gonna be this loooooooooong a journey. But Dadda Mamma say I did good. Much better than what they expected. The moment we landed at the Mumbai Airport, I saw a glow on Mom Dad's face. It was as if that happiness of reaching ones own country (esp after three long years)  overpowered all the tiredness caused by the 25 hours long flight.

The minute we stepped out from the airport, it was so warm and humid. Amongst the ocean of people, I saw someone waving at me - that was my Achachan. Then I saw a totally excited face who was standing with a board to welcome the three of us (Thank you so much for putting in all the effort to make something so precious)

That was none other than my Tuttu Appachi (Archu - Dadda's Sister). And then I saw my Achamma and Hashu (Harsh) Mama.
Initially I was a little hesitant to go to any of them. All I did was just stand and stare

But the love and pampering that I got, couldnt keep me away from them for a long time

I did a lot of stuff in Mumbai. Shopping at the malls, cycling, dancing, being pampered

Visited relatives and friends too

We didnt even realize how a month passed with Achacha, Achamma

And Appachi & Hashu Mama

I miss you all :(

Mundan

My blog posting has been irregular since a few weeks due to the paucity of time. I'm enjoying all the pampering, love and attention from my family and relatives here in India.

But this one I just cannot miss....

It was a big day for me. Early in the morning I was dressed up in a salwar kameez and we all went to the Balaji Temple.

After the Puja and prayers I was taken to a place just outside the temple. Dadda poured a bit of water on my head after which my achacha held me and showed me some bhow bhows. I was so excited to see them cuz recently I've learnt to say 'Bhow Bhow' when I see dogs :) And those Bhow Bhows kept me so occupied that I didnt even realize there was something going on behind my back.

But once I saw the person who was fiddling with my head and the scissors in his hand I was so frightened and scared that I started weeping badly. I was taken to another place where Achamma and Mamma gave me a quick shower. We went to the temple again but this time there was something missing. I couldnt figure out what though. After the prayers the Pundit put a flower garland on my neck which made me cry even more. Finally we returned home. I was upset and totally lost.

Achacha applied the Sandalwood paste on my head that we got from the temple. It was so good that it managed to bring back my smile :)

Wow...The cooling effect that the Sandalwood has....Ahhhh....

It was only after I looked at the mirror I figured out the big mystery. Surprisingly I was thrilled to see my bald head :)
And this is how I look
