Baby Shower

Mamma and me were shopping for some baby clothes because she had to go for her friend's baby shower. I wanted to help her by picking some good clothes but I needed to know the size for that. Very genuinely I asked how - how old is the baby?
Mom gave a strange look and said - "Rhea I'm going for a baby shower. So obviously the baby is not born yet!"
I don't know why but my answer to that made her LOL - "How can you give the baby a shower if she is not born yet?"

RSM project

Yesterday was the final day for RSM project submission. Because of lack of time I didn't get a chance to work on it earlier. I started and wrapped it up in one day. But both, myself and Mamma, are very happy with my work. I think I put in my best and I loved what I made.
So we were asked to do ANYTHING under the sun to display what we have learnt in the class this year. I decided to go with the easter theme because that's what I see everywhere right now - everything is easter egg/bunny shaped at the store
So I thought I will show on a chart how addition and subtraction are opposite operations and how multiplication and division are opposites.
Some easter stickers combined with my art work resulted in an EASTER MATH FUN!

They did the voting in the class. Parents and other teachers did not come in to vote (only the students did). Then the results were declared and I lost by just one vote. I felt SO sad, I should have probably voted for my own self. If I had just one more vote I would have won. Mamma tried to pacfiy me with her supportive words but deep down I was still sad. So much so that ma had to wake me up in the middle of the night because apparently I was sobbing saying "I'm sad because I didnt win" :(

Dadda left for India :(

This morning's bye to Dadda was very saddening because he is suddenly leaving for India. And the worst part is we are not sure when will he be back. But I see that Mamma and Dadda are feeling relieved because of this trip. Thats probably because they have been so worried off late thinking about Achacha's health. And mamma says that Dadda being there with them will be a big help. After all everyone likes to be with their kids. And I'm sure for the same reason Dadda will be back soon :)

Mystery Reader

I've been really wanting Mamma to come to my class as the  mystery reader. But she told me yesterday that she hasn't signed up for it yet :(
Although she asked me to pick a couple of books because apparently you need to provide the book names when you sing up to be a mystery reader.
Today, like every Friday 2:15pm, I was curiously looking at the door wondering who the mystery reader will be. And there I see - it was Mamma walking into my classroom. I was so thrilled to see her, because I least expected her, that I went running and hugged her tight! And she had both the books that I picked. Yay! I couldn't stop smiling along along the story reading time :)

Good Behavior Jar

Today I got the maximum points from the 'good behavior jar' at the Extended Day. I got a certificate and some minion stickers. And I shared some stickers with Tanu. Well there is a reason why my name was in that jar the most :)

Work at Summer Program

Our new swing set

We had ordered our swing set some time back and finally after 2 weeks of waiting it arrived. But only to know that it will be installed later. Almost every day I would ask Mamma when the installation guys were going to come and it was disappointing to know that it was gonna take them one complete month!

Today while returning from the summer program Mamma told me that we could play frisbee outside since it was a beautiful day. I got home, went near the patio to open the door to go out and only the video can do justice to describe my 'I can't believe my eyes' expression :) I was so excited that for a few minutes I was just celebrating the swing set, not realizing that I could actually go out and  play!

Sa Re Ga Ma

My mom had taken me for an audition to get into a carnatic music class of Ms. Tara Anand on Oct 11th (Vijayadashami time). Unfortunately Tara Aunty felt I struggled with pitching and it was too early for me to start. 
But Mamma knew that what I sang in the audition is nowhere close to reality, I was unusually shy and did not sing well at all. So she didn't want to give up at that note. After a few persistent emails she talked Tara Aunty into giving me at least a chance to try for a couple of months and then make the decision.

Today was my first class. It looks like I did good, definitely far better than the audition day. We will wait and see how it shapes up.

Happy Diwali

This is one of my favorite festival of the year. Although its not for the obvious reason of firecrackers, its what follows that - the yummy sweets.

I was all dressed up to celebrate the day.

Although I was helping Mamma ko setup the 'diwali thali' for the friends' house, it was very difficult for me to resist myself from having any while making them.

Finally my wait was well worth it. This is what I got :)

Happy Halloween

We celebrated school's halloween at the Keefe Tech, this is me with my teachers - Ms. Ramakrishnan and Ms. Hawkes.

Mamma and me baked 'bruised fingers' for my school's celebration. Initially I was helping mamma with baking it but towards the end it started turning out to be so spooky that I couldn't dare to pitch in.

Apple Picking

I think we won't have to visit a doctor for at least a couple of months because of the large number of apples we all collected today - an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

The Anands, Surams and Potharajus went to the Tougas farm in Northborough. 

The best part about the day was not just picking apples.

But trying it right there, in the farm. And then finding which one tastes the best.

What could be more fun than doing all of this with your best friends.

A casual day!

It was one of those relaxing weekends! No activities, went to temple, had some yummy food and watched movies!

Anarkali Disco Chali!!

It was another one of the dance performances for India Day. I was so excited because this was the first time Tanu, Nanu, and Ammamma were coming to see my dance :)

As can be seen from the pictures, not only did I enjoy dancing to this song but everyone in the audience enjoyed watching our dance.

Happy 4 and a half!

As is evident from my previous posts that everyone is our family has a sweet tooth and never misses a chance to celebrate any occasion which could possibly involve some cake :)

Home Sweet Home

I can't tell you how many open houses mom, dad (and even Ammamma) have been to! That was the last 'outing' mom went to before her maternity leave and the first one after her delivery (of course other than the hospital visits). I think mom and dad are really picky! But you know what their hard work and my patience was worth it! We finally found a home that we all loved!

 

Today was the graha pravesha of the house! It was the same priest who did mine and Tanu's Anna praasanam. How nice is that!

We are so looking forward to enjoy our new home!

Happy Birthday Ammamma

Another reason to celebrate, another joyful day. The first time I got to eat the cake for Ammamma's Birthday. Happy Birthday Ammammu :)

Anjali Chechi's visit

When Ammamma Nanu mentioned that a cousin of Mom was going to visit us from Australia, I didn't even imagine she'd be the kinds with whom I would enjoy more than Mamma did - Anjali Chechi.

The couple of days she was home we read books, drew pictures, went shopping, she showed me her wedding pics and we had so much fun! Thank you Chechi for everything esp. for the cool 'Cat in the Hat game' that you got for me. I loved it!

 

Happy Vishu!

Every year I enjoy this day because I get to see the beautiful Vishu Kani in the morning followed by some yummy breakfast and then one of my fav rituals - Vishu Kazinettam.

But this year's Vishu was even more special because it was my first one with Nanu Ammamma and more importantly it was Tanu's first one :)

I'm a BIG Sister!!

After a long wait of over 9 months finally we got the BIG news today - I'm a BIG sister of a cute little princess - Tanya Anand. 

 I wasn't allowed in the hospital when she was born but I can't describe how excited I was to see and hold her today evening.

"Awwwwww! Mamma our baby is so cute" were the first words I said when I saw her



So this was the naughty little girl whose kicks I could feel inside our Mamma's tummy. The feeling of being a big sister is amazing! Everyone in the family said that I would be a great one :)

We can't wait to welcome you home Tanu!
