Merry Christmas

Although ours was a house full of sick people, we did manage to put the tree and I made my wish list too. I'm so glad that all the effort was worth it because it looks like I was at the top on Santa's good list because each and every wish of mine was granted.Yay!!

I love you Santa! :)

Four on 12/12/12

What a special day it was! I turned four and that too on a rare date - 12/12/12 !!
The celebrations started with a treasure hunt birthday presents. Mom dad had hidden four presents for my 4th bday and I had to find them. Not only did I love seeing my presents but the hunt was fun too. This was followed by a fun filled day at Boston's children's museum.

The celebrations didn't end there - the next day I brought yummy cupcakes for my friends at school, which they all loved. Then was my real birthday party at Pump It Up where my friends came to celebrate with me and got me lots of presents. 

A birthday is not complete without a cake and in my case since we celebrated it over a few days I got FOUR cakes. What more could I ask for!! :) They made my dayS.

Happy Diwali

The good part about being Mamma's helper for making Diwali sweets is that I also get to test/taste it. Our final outcome turned out really yummy.

Multiples :D

In order to teach me how to read time (clock) Mamma started with teaching me multiples of 5. And to her surprise I understood the concept very quick and could repeat it without much effort So while talking with my grandfather over the phone I very proudly asked  ‘Do you want to hear multiples of 5? Its 5, 10, 15, 20, 25…….., 95, 100’.

He applauded and just for fun asked me how about multiples of 6, do you know that too?

I paused, thought and confidently said ‘Sure I do. Its 6, 10, 16, 20, 26, 30, 36…..96, 100.

Don't know why but he, Dadda, and Mamma started laughing out loud.

Sneak peak week

It was the sneak peak week at ballet which meant the parents could come and see what we've been learning last month, And looks like we have been doing a good job :)

Boooo!!

My favorite time of the year - Halloween. Not only because I get to wear those fun costumes but more importantly because of the candies that I get to collect and eat.

This time the super girl had 4X the fun. May be because my 4th birthday is around the corner :)

The first one was at my school

Over the weekend I got to wear my costume to the ballet lessons

And to our town's halloween parade.

Finally it was the celebration in the neighborhood which is the most fun of all. 

Yay! The month of November is going to be very 'sweet' :)

Ballet

I've always been very fond of dancing, esp to bollywood songs. To start with, mom has enrolled me in Ballet and today was the first class. Although it was only introductory, it was a lot of fun. 

Telling Lies - No Mamma

Toddlers lie 'unknowingly' and that's a well known fact. But Ma has been trying to teach me the importance of speaking the truth. 
Today she asked me something and my reply was a complete lie, we both knew it. Very patiently mamma repeated her question with the hope that she would hear the truth this time, but no luck! Finally she said 'Rhea, you know we talked about how God doesn't like it if we lie. And more importantly when we look into someone's eyes we should always speak the truth'.
I understood most of what she said.
The question was repeated for the third time and I looked at Mom's face and gave the same reply. To this she said 'That was not nice Rhea. I told you never look into someone's eyes and lie'.

'But mamma this time I looked at your nose' :)

Happy Onam!

This was my first Onam with Achacha & Achamma and it sure was special.

Achamma & Mamma made a tiny pookalam in front of the house. And once they were all done making it I posed for a pic pretending that I was making it. Thats why mom dad always call me 'pretend master'.

 Unfortunately Ma had to go to work in the morning, which meant Achamma had to prepare the entire OnaSadya by herself. But Achamma was more than happy to do it :) Of course the special Ada Prathaman was made by Achacha. We presented the Naivedyam to Amboti and then everyone started to serve.

 
The first bite from Amboti's Maamam was given to me by Achamma and Achacha.

And then there was no stopping any of us from having the yummy Ona Sadya.

 
There is a special surprise that Mamma Dadda told me today. I'm so excited to hear that. Since its our family's secret I cannot mention it in this blog today. Shhhhhh :)

Planet

An interesting conversation this morning:

On our way to my school we saw a gym

Me – “What is this mamma?”

Mamma - It’s a gym Rhea

Me – Is it the gym that Daddy goes to?

Mamma - No Rheu, Daddy goes to the “Planet Fitness” gym.

Me – Which planet, Mercury? He goes all the way from Earth to Mercury?

Arrived!

My grandparents arrived a couple of days ago . I was so super excited to receive them. Although their flight landed pretty late in the night, I made sure to stay awake until they reached. As soon as we sat in the car (on our way back) started all my stories. I could see it on their face how much they had missed all this and were loving it, 

Now the fun days have begun. I go for walks, biking and a lot of other fun stuff. Most importantly I get to throw my tantrums too :)

Teacher

My Achacha & Achamma (grandparents) are coming soon. Yay! I'm so excited.  I'll be meeting them after more than 2 years.

And here's what my school's report said today (Both Mamma Dadda love the special note that Miss Laura writes every day).

 

Voice Mail

Since Daddy works out of New York, 3-4 of 7 days I call him up as often as I can. I really miss him and feel so sad esp. since the cell phone's network isn't that great in his hotel room. So I mostly end up getting his mailbox. It happened so many times that here's finally what I could repeat - 

'Hello! You've reached Arun. Please leave a message and I'll call you back. After the tone please record your message. When you are finished recording you may hang up or press 1 for more options. Beeeeep'

 

Three and a half

After Mamma picked me up from school she took me to the bakery section at Roche Bros and I figured it was a special day today. Oh yeah I know what it is. I turned three and a half today :)

But we only got a pastry instead of cake because my most favorite person in the world was not home today - My Daddy. Since he travels for work he was at New York :(
After we reached home someone buzzed the door. And it was the Pizza delivery guy. I guess its evident from my expression how much I love pizza :) 

Cake followed by pizza. It sure was a fun day.

Bird Feeder

We had a project at school today - to make a bird feeder. I got a stick, put some peanut butter on it, sprinkled different types of seeds, and finally attached a string to it. And this is how my bird feeder looked like

After coming home, I kept the bird feeder near our patio hoping that the birds would come and eat from it. But to my surprise instead of the birds there was a competition between two different animals to grab my bird feeder - it was the chipmunk and the squirrel. The squirrel was much quicker than the chipmunk. He got down from the tree, rushed through the cars and grabbed the bird feeder before the chipmunk did.

 
While the squirrel was eating it, he saw the chipmunk staring at him.

 
Soon he realized it wasn't safe to be there. He climbed the tree and sat way up to eat it peacefully.

 
He came down after he was done eating, drank some water and filled his tummy. 

And this is how my bird feeder looked after he was all done.

 But squirrel, it wasn't fair to eat the birdie's food :(

Fonzie

All day I was talking about Fonzie. He was so nice and friendly. Btw Fonzie is the horsey that I rode today. It was my first horse ride and I unexpectedly did great :)

I was buckled up nicely and all geared up for the ride.

 

The first round started at a slow pace. But by the end of the round I was all smiles :D

But after the first one I wanted to go faster and faster. It was so much fun.

I had such a great time with Fonzie that I even rubbed his nose and said bye.

I'll surely come for another ride soon :)

Mitch-Match Day

Today was the mismatch day at school. And this is how I was dressed up - the formal top, PJ's bottoms, mismatch socks, shoes, ponies, clips :)

Happy Vishu!

Mamma had prepped me yesterday for this morning and I did good. After mommy woke me up I opened my eyes to see the Vishu Kani, prayed and got Amboti's blessings. 

This was followed by a nice shower, Amboti prayers and my fav breakfast 'KozhaKatta' :)

And then the most important ritual of Vishu - Kaineettam (when elders give blessings and pocket money).

Spring has Sprung

Daddy was out running some errands and I was home with Mom. It doesn't take much for me to miss Daddy, even if he is out for just a few minutes. I asked Mamma to dial his phone number because I still need her help to make a call. But she said her hands were busy. 

Just for fun I asked Mamma if I could call him. She approved the request, without a second thought, only because she knew that it just meant I'll go to my playroom and pretend to call Daddy with my toy phone. 

But, Mamma's reaction was worth capturing when she heard Daddy's voice on the land line phone's speaker.

Yes, when she said I could make a call - I grabbed the real phone, dialed daddy's number all by myself and put the speaker on.

Yay! that was the first "real" phone call I made :)

First Dentist Visit

Now that I'm 3, it's time for my dentist appointment. And there I was at Dr. Robin Eliasberg's office.

Mamma Dadda had prepped me up by showing videos but hey this place was fun. I got cool sun glasses and I was all set to get my teeth cleaned :)

And then started the cleaning, rinsing and all that stuff which I had seen in the videos.

Finally, I got to chose a toothbrush and stickers for my present. Thats because I did an amazing job.

In fact Mamma Dadda were so thrilled that I got my most favorite treat - An IceCream. Yay!!

Now I know my ABCs

I've been practicing writing my ABCs a lot theses days.

Yes, that's right. I am left handed :)

Snow!

This year's winter has been really mild. Mostly everyone seems happy about it, but not me. I've been waiting for the snow, so I can build my snow man :(

Finally it snowed today. Although I couldn't build my snow man, as the snow was very soft, at least I gotta play with Dadda. It was so much fun.

Since I have cold and cough, Mamma snuggled me inside my blankie..all nice and cozy :)

It was a fun day!

Hair Cut

Got my hair cut today, which implies I got new clips, lollipop and also play with bubbles during hair cut. Its so much fun!
